It is definitely a commitment! But, I love when a book about something I thought I had no interest in (logging, in this case) sucks me in with such power. While it is fiction, I learned a ton about how the US/Canada were logged in the early years, horrified by the lack of forethought by these men and companies.

I’m so glad you liked this one! It’s on my list to track down this year. Annie Proulx is a great writer and I’m a bit antsy about it.
